Like many 21st-century financial institutions, Mastercard's business is about more than credit cards. It's also an online payment platform, a digital wallet, and a technology company. So the branding has to be flexible, too. "It needs to thrive in a digital space," says Cindy Chastain, head of Mastercard's customer experience and design. "It's simplified. It's modernized and optimized for relevance in an increasingly digital world."
